Daniel & Alyssa

Meet Daniel and Alyssa! These two began in our ministry as two single and godly individuals, but after being paired up to lead a small group together they are now a godly couple! We thought they would be a great community group leadership team to highlight this week. We asked them a couple of important and fun questions so that you guys could get to know them a little bit better.

In a few sentences, how did you come to the Lord?

Daniel: As far back as I can remember I’ve been in church. I was four when I accepted the Lord. Although I understood God’s word, it wasn’t until Jr high when I rededicated my life at a Harvest Crusade that I began having a strong relationship with the Lord.

Alyssa: When I was 11 my baby sitter invited me to a Good Friday service at Harvest. I heard the gospel for the first time, recognized my need for Jesus, and got saved. At age 14, I  attended a high school retreat where I rededicated my life and was baptized.

What are a few things you love to do?12509194_1001655973214696_2703698721837039124_n

Daniel: I love spending time with my family. Whether it’s eating some delicious Mexican food while watching a movie or taking a trip to Disneyland; family time never gets old.

Alyssa: I love spending time with my friends and going to new places. I enjoy going to Disneyland especially with my fiancé. I love antique/thrift store shopping. In my spare time, you can find me eating and enjoying a bag of hot Cheetos.

Who is your favorite author (Christian or secular), and why?

Daniel: I truly enjoy reading books by Ravi Zacharias. The stories and examples he uses to convey at times difficult or simple concepts of apologetics makes the read so enjoyable. It is as if we are having a one on one conversation about life and God.

Alyssa: Right now some friends and I are reading Because He Loves Me by Elyse Fitzpatrick. She’s a great author. The book addresses how God’s love transforms our identity and how the gospel is relevant to our daily life.

If you could only give one piece of advice to someone what would it be?

Daniel: Be equipped or prepared to be used by the Lord in a moments notice. Be in prayer. Have a bible study ready to teach. Be practiced up for an emergency worship session. When the time comes you’re ready.

Alyssa: If I could give only one piece of advice to someone it would be to appreciate, love, and pray for the people the Lord has placed in your life today. The moments we share with one another are a gift and our life is a vapor.

We hope you have enjoyed getting to know these two a little better, but of course if you are not in a community group sign up now if you want to join their group. They meet every week on Monday evenings in the Harvest Cafe. Click the button bellow to sign up now!
